HYROX-style racing in San Diego

Run Lift WOD is LP Compete's hybrid race in San Diego: a run, a lift, then a workout. Built for athletes who train for HYROX-style racing and CrossFit.

What a HYROX-style race is

A HYROX-style race combines running with strength and conditioning stations, raced for time. It rewards athletes who can hold a running pace and still move weight. HYROX itself is a separate brand with its own events. LP Compete is not affiliated with HYROX.

Run Lift WOD in San Diego

Run Lift WOD takes the same idea and builds it for San Diego's CrossFit and hybrid community. Every heat starts with a run, moves to a lift, and finishes with a conditioning workout. Distances, loads and the workout are released before race day with standards for each level.

You can race as a Team of 3, a Mixed Pair or an Individual, at Advanced, RX or Intermediate. The 2027 date and venue are posted by January 1.

Training for a hybrid race

Train running and strength in the same week, and practice moving between them. Run at race pace, then lift within a minute of stopping. The LinearProgressionCF program on TrainHeroic builds strength, barbell conditioning and metabolic conditioning together, which carries straight over to hybrid racing.
